Podcast Show Notes:
Darren leads us in a trivia game about characters and actors in movies. This was our first try at this. It went very well and we think we can do it better next time where some of the questions possibly could be answerable by Damien 😉 At the end we all share a film we’ve seen recently (no spoilers).

Most movie lovers can remember certain characters bursting onto the screen in unforgettable scenes. The challenge to our three movie critics today was to summon some favorites and share them on the podcast. It made for a lively discussion and touch the neurons of quite a few memories both vintage and recent.
1. Ice Breaker: Each critic brings one film we have seen recently as a spoiler-free discussion. Darren starts.
2. We all bring 2 favorite character screen intros each. Becky Starts.
3. We each bring and discuss a film we wish we could have seen and why we would have or want to see the film from this year (preferably not something that has come out in the last 2 weeks or so this also offers a follow up chat for later shows too where we can get into spoilers.) Damien Starts
The Man Who Knew Infinity, House of Frankenstein, Howl of the Wolfman, The Family Fang, The Empire Strikes Back, Fast and the Furious, Silence of the Lambs, Ocean’s Eleven, Jurassic Park, Alien, Sing Street and more.

What can a big budget do for a so so movie story? How about what can a great story do with a lower budget? These are issues Damien and Darren tackle today in this episode of “Talking Stars.” We hope you enjoy.
Crawl or Die and The BFG are the two films covered in this episode. We talk about the first film that has a relatively small budget, Crawl or Die, and stack it against the high budgeted BFG. You can read in our excitement that Crawl or Die did a lot more with less to making a great film. Listen to Darren and Damien discuss these two films in this episode. This podcast includes spoilers.

When someone loves a film, do they tend to like or dislike the remake? Why? This is one of the questions we set out to answer in this episode. Becky, our resident film-music authority, joins us once again bringing her remakes to the table as we discuss more than 6 remakes on the show.
Outline for the “Remakes” Show
Talking Stars Recorded 7/22/2016 The movies:
Becky: Star Trek: Into Darkness, Ben Hur, Maleficient
Damien: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Cape Fear
Darren: Old Boy, The Departed
Damien: “This is a show on remakes so fittingly it has a new lead host. I say that tongue in cheek, I am leading today but our regular lead host Darren Lucas is here today as co-host.
Also, we have our esteemed film music authority back a second time as a guest: Becky from Music Film Central. Finally we are talking why we like the original or why we did or didn’t like the remake or both. Spoiler warning! It seems our podcast always has some form of spoiler. We are film critics discussing what works in films as well as what has worked for stars. For that reason we suggest if you have not seen the films and don’t want to know spoilers, to press pause until you do.
Thank you! If there is anyone you would like us to cover leave a comment. Also, let us know if you’d like to be a guest on the show. Thanks to Becky for coming on the show! Becky has been in twice now! Hopefully we’ll be she’ll be able and willing to visit us much more. You can visit her blog at Film Music Central or read and follow her tweets at @filmusiccentral Becky is one of our favorite people 🙂

‘The Hunt’ is a drama and suspense film. It covers the issue of an innocent man being accused of a sexual crime with a child he did not commit. We discuss the plot and some relevant issues in the film.
Intro: Talking Stars is a new show Darren Lucas and Myself are working on, this show is the fifth episode of our first season. We discuss The Hunt, a very gripping film indeed that focuses on a very controversial topic. We are hoping to have some more guests on the show. Interested?
