In this episode, Darren and Damien talk about horror films released in 2016. It was a great year for horror they both agree. It was tough making a top ten with so many scares and creepy things on the silver screen. They both bring their personal top tens and weave them through the podcast to create an amalgamated list. We highly recommend the films that are listed here. Go have yourself a scare! If you’ve already seen a film, please comment and continue the conversation.
2017 may be just as good if not better for horror. Here is our Top Ten Horror of 2016 list. Each title is followed by links to Darren and Damien’s reviews on the films for further reading.

John Malkovich is a well known name in movies. What many people do not know is that he has spent many years gracing the live stage with his talents.
He’s a commanding presence in film and on stage. Our panel unanimously respects him greatly and it comes across in our words this episode. As we normally do every other episode or so, we focused on an actor in this , a “star,” and we did some “talking” about him. We hope you’ll give it a listen and interact with us in the comments.

For James Wan, director, in the beginning was Saw. This first grisly, mind-bending thriller/horror film didn’t gross all that much but it spawned many many sequels making the franchise one of the most successful in the horror genre. In this podcast, we discuss the entire Saw franchise in detail, brain crunching traps included. Don’t miss this episode. Below are the stats on the film that started it all.
One of the features of Saw that truly sets it apart is the challenges and traps that are part of the game. It’s no fun, make no mistake, to somehow avoid a bear trap crushing your skull and that’s just one of the grisly inventions in the film. But there is a battle of intellect going on here. Saw says those who do not appreciate life don’t deserve life. Interesting. I wonder how we would fare?
The blog critics of Talking Stars discuss the Marvel film Doctor Strange! You may be surprised who liked it least! All in all, we thought the visuals were amazing and there is definitely a wide open door for a sequel. Get all the info on this film along with our uncensored views as you listen to this episode of the podcast.
